About ICSC Galway
ICSC is a prime Indian Community in Galway, which was formed in 2015 as a non-profile community body by the Indian diaspora predominantly living in and around Galway City & County. ICSC fundamentally serves the people in Galway, with main purpose of integrating with Irish society, Promoting sports like Badminton, Cricket, among the few sports activities from mainstream indoor sports for children and adults of any age. ICSC has also involved in organizing many of the Indian festivals not only to bring you closer to home and never missing Indian tradition and culture but also give a flavour of Indian subcontinent culture to the people of Galway.
We have many events organized naming few like funding raising activities for good cause for both in Ireland and back home, most of the festivals fall on Lunar calendar year, dates decided varies every year to St. Patricks festival, pride being Irish and bringing Indian language classes to next generation. As food plays main part of the India tradition, food which is special from different regions in India either home-made or caterer served, follows afterwards in most of the gatherings.
Though most of the festival dates as per Lunar calendar falls during the week, ICSC celebrates during the weekend except St. Patricks day parade to the convenience of children and adults.
ICSC works very closely with local authorities and other community bodies from time to time to get participated in the local events like Galway 2020, on which ICSC is heavily involved from Indian Communities. ICSC has also huge interaction with people living in Lougrea, Tuam, Cliffden, Athlone, Ennis and most importantly students & staff in NUI-Galway (hugely very cooperative to new comers), who has great participation every year in Indian music and dance.
Most of our events are organized within the vicinity of Galway City within the commutable distance, depends on availability of the venue like in Salthill, Knocknacarra, Galway City centre.
ICSC, as always, gets huge attention in both local and national media every year on the upcoming events and after event. We aim to connect and empower individuals, celebrate our rich heritage, and contribute to the growth and success of our community both locally and globally.
